How did the Black Death affect ordinary citizens?
The plague (also known as the Black Death) was a dreadful disease spread by fleas in black rats (although in Medieval England they didn't know that). Everyone who had caught it died in 1-2 weeks. 100 million people in England died, and half of Europe's population gone. The symptoms were extremely painful, and there was no cure. However, the peasants that survived stood up for themselves and demanded for their wages to be increased, as most workers died and less people were employed.
